Overview
Until the end of 2008, Berkeley Lake’s City Hall was housed in what had been the community’s ‘general store and bait shop’ from the days before the city existed.
Town Hall meetings were held in 2006 to determine our citizens’ vision for the look and service of the city’s new SPLOST (special-purpose local-option sales tax) funded City Hall. The city council established an Architectural Design Committee to perform research and advise council regarding the selection of an Architect. That committee performed the legwork and was asked by council to continue their role to completion of the project in 2009.
