Rebecca Spitler

She has lived in Berkeley Lake since 2002 and is married to retired Major Gen. Rex Spitler. They have two children, Ashley and Pierce, and three grandchildren, Chase, Laurel and Kiera.

Rebecca has worked in an executive capacity in the technology industry for over 25 years with emphasis on computer based training, customer relationship management, business intelligence, web development and social media integration.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and a Master’s degree from the University of Southern California.

Accomplishments

• Rebecca has served as the city’s representative to the Georgia Piedmont Land Trust since January 2007. She has been president of that organization since January of 2009.

• She serves on the InterGovernmental Relations Committee and the 2014 Executive Board of the Gwinnett Municipal Association. In 2008 she served as the organizations secretary / treasurer and was a member of the 2008 Executive Board.

• Rebecca began her community service as a board member of the Miramont HOA. She served for four years and was President in 2005.

• She has served on numerous Berkeley Lake committees including Communications, Stormwater Management / Public Works, and Comprehensive Planning.

• She has chaired the Berkeley Lake Conservancy as well as the Policy Advisory Committee.

• She served two years as the Berkeley Lake representative on the Gwinnett County SPLOST Citizens Committee.

• She was awarded The Troy Chatham Rotarian of the Year (2009-2010) by the Gwinnett Rotary Club.

• She is a Leadership Gwinnett Alumni, class of 2010-2011.
